It's great that the Bloedel Conservatory will be around for the foreseeable future and that tourists and residents alike can still enjoy its beauties. The Bloedel Conservatory is currently surrounded by scaffolding and the panels of the dome are gradually being replaced. Being the age that the dome is and the cost of maintaining it I can understand the decision to close it, but I am glad the friends of Bloedel decided to save it. This conservatory is a wonderful asset to Vancouver. Here, we don't seem to have many but then we have flowers all year round in South Florida. Next week we are going to Kirstenbosh, a botanical park in Cape Town and I will make photos, but its not as incredible like this Conservatory in Vancouver. Coincidentally, since 1984, Pasadena Conservatory of Music has also advocated and inspired similar progressive approaches in performance and music appreciation particularly among the young.
