If I knew about Garfield Park Conservatory I would have gone there last year, when I visited Chicago. In Berlin we have a fantastic Botanical Garden too, I only went once but it's a really lovely place too. A conservatory traditionally was a covered glasshouse that was either a standalone structure or attached to a building, because its purpose was to house plants it was in effect a hothouse and kept to a stable temperature and humidity.
